Assistive Technology for Voters

At our last Voter Registration event, Anthony Akamine gave a presentation, on behalf of the Office of Elections, about assistive technologies that are available for voters who are blind or visually impaired. These include

  • Pen Grips
  • Signature Guides
  • Various Magnifiers such as
    • Hand-held magnifiers
    • Dome Magnifiers
    • Sheet Magnifiers

While these aids can be helpful for those who are visually impaired, voters also have the option of using an electronic voting machine. The machine provides audio capabilities that allow users to listen to options using headphones.
